*DIAGNOSIS,
ONSET OF DISEASE
& SYMPTOM
In 1996, Mme PAULA MOLNAR noted a hypoesthesia about level of toes of her left foot, also a slowing down of her left hand and left lowerlimb with difficulty of walking and general tiredness. Two years later, face these symptoms, PRAMIPEXOL, was introduced in a dose of 2 times a day 1 tablet with benefit in tiredness and walking. In 1999, PROLOPA was also introduced, 250, 4 x ¼ tablet with benefit. Since (january/2003), treatment in unchanged PROLOPA 250, 4 x ¼ tablet and PRAMIPEXOL, 2 day x 1 mg.
Since December 2001 tremor of left hand and leg has come. She also noted slight slowing down of right hemicorps, writing was not changed and there are no signs of cognitive and humour disturbances. She has also insomnia and she has difficulties for turning in her bed, so she is active during the nights and she rarely sleeps in day time. From introduction of LEVODOPA she noted motor fluctuations with improvement of walking after 30-60 minutes under influence of medicaments it lasts 3-4 hours. Since some months she feels involuntary movements of the right muscle sterno-cleido-mastoid without head’s movements.
Madame PAULA has not familial antecedent of Parkinson disease.
She has a Parkinson syndrome with asymmetric tremor, akinesia and rigidity which responds to medicaments (LEVODOPA). There are no atypical signs, and she has a diagnostic of idiopathic Parkinson disease.
At present, Mme PAULA MOLNAR feels uncomfortable with « off » phases linked to her akinesias of left hemicorpus, with discomfort in walking and left side tremors.
OPINION

I think that research with stem cells for therapeutical issue is very important, mainly for people who have diseases which are hard to treat like Parkinson, Alzheimer and others.
